How does the insurance work?

All of our vehicles are insured by Equity Red Star Insurance under a Fleet Self-Drive-Hire Policy, brokered by Sky Insurance Ltd. Our fully comprehensive insurance policy covers drivers between the ages of 23 and 79 with up to three points on their licence. We may be able to accommodate you outside of these parameters by agreement  - please contact us.

The cost the of insurance is included in the advertised price.

Can I bring my dog?

Well behaved, small to medium sized dogs are welcome and we will normally remove items like the cab seat covers. We may also add an additional fee to cover the cost of cleaning afterwards which we will agree with you beforehand. Large dogs are not suitable for the campers - sorry.

Is bedding included?

Yes, fresh bedding is included with each of our campers. This includes a quilted blanket under-sheet, micro-fibre double duvet and cover and two micro-fibre pillows and covers. You do not need to bring any of your own bedding.

Can I cook in the vans?

RED1 has suitable cooking facilities to enable you to cook inside, though we ask you are mindful of the decor and cook outside when possible. Both campers have outdoor cooking facilities and an awning or sun-canopy to support this. RED2 is not suitable for indoor cooking. 

Are there age restrictions to hiring a camper?

Yes, you must be aged between 23 and 79.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes. Our standard deposit is £600. On occasion we may request a higher deposit if our insurance company deems you to be a higher risk. Non-EU hirers will be required to pay a £1,500 deposit prior to driving the vehicle away.

Are the campers covered by roadside assistance?

Yes, each of our campers are covered by a premium AA Roadside Assistance policy.

Is there a cancellation policy?

Yes. In the event of a cancellation the following applies:

  • Cancellations within 48 hours of booking = 100% Refund of the fee. 

  • Cancellations within 30 days of check in = 50% Refund of the fee. 

  • Cancellations within 15 days of check in = 100% loss of the fee. 

However, if we receive another booking for the same van, for the same rental period after you have cancelled, we will refund your fee.

Can I pay by Credit Card?

Yes, we can send you an e-invoice from our PayPal Business Account and you can pay that by credit or debit card. 

We cannot take cash bookings.

Can I leave my car with you?

Yes, you can. I you wish to leave your car with us during your hire period then you will need to start and finish your hire at our base in Stoke Fleming, twenty minutes outside of Totnes. Alternatively we can meet you straight off the train at Totnes Rail Station.
